Arakoon National Park

Arakoon National Park is on the NSW mid north coast near South West Rocks.

The park centres around Trial Bay Gaol which was built 1877-1886 to house the inmates that were building the breakwater in Trial Bay.

Later the gaol was used an internment camp during World War.

A monument to the internees who died during this period is built on the headland nearby.

The walking trail from the Gaol over Monument Hill to Little Bay Beach.

From Monument Hill looking over the gaol and across the bay.
